Our Assessment Process

We understand that it is a difficult decision to seek mental health or professional counseling services. At Barclay & Associates, P.C., we strive to make your experience with us as beneficial as possible while also endeavoring to keep it clear, organized, and cost effective. For these reasons, our support staff completes a lot of work on your behalf and behind the scenes before you step in the door, as well as working with you and our professional staff at and between every visit you make to our offices. We hope you will find our office to be second to none in hospitality and efficiency.

Our office manager, Dori Gass, serves as our intake coordinator and will conduct a preliminary telephone interview that consists of a brief review of your concerns, insurance information, and scheduling of your first appointment. Dori will remain your point of contact to address any problems or concerns that may arise while you are here for services. Our staff is able to track your progress with regard to forms completion and submission and will remind you if your forms packet is not completed as your initial appointment approaches

All new patients/clients are initially scheduled with one of our Clinical Associates for an intake appointment. The intake meeting, and in more complex cases involving children or adolescents, the next few appointments allow us to obtain a comprehensive assessment of your concerns. This will also make it possible for our Medical Director to be very focused in his subsequent interview with you, if scheduled. Dori and her staff will make every effort to link you with your requested therapist or one whose skills and interest most closely match your needs although this may not always be possible. At the conclusion of the assessment, your therapist will then review a treatment plan that may include:
